WHO ARE WE?

Live Love Sport is a sports coaching services provider based in SW London. For over 25 years, the company's founder Steve Cockell has worked as a professional tennis coach and an entrepreneur in sports coaching, specialising in developing tennis programs both in the UK and overseas, venue management, sports tours and holidays, and corporate events. Live Love Sport was founded in 2018 to use Steve's expertise to develop a new community based coaching service in public facilities such as parks and schools.

Now in our 5th year of operations, Live Love Sport currently runs coaching programs across 3 different public park sites as well as in several local state and private schools. Whilst our main interest is still tennis coaching, our start up years have also taken in the development of holiday camps and programs in sports such as rugby, netball and football.

Our Vision

Live Love Sport was founded with an aim to improve the overall quality of coaching in community sports. With a long history of coaching in tennis in particular but a knowledge of a wide range of other sports, our experience led us to believe that the delivery of coaching in community locations was often overlooked and the initial experience at "grassroots" level was uninspiring. We would see large groups participating in activities led by inexperienced coaches. Whilst these classes, camps and lessons delivered fun sessions, players weren't able to improve their level of play, understanding of the game or their interest in participating in competitive situations.

Moving forwards, Live Love Sport have now targeted these community locations such as parks and schools to deliver high quality coaching to players. We emphasise technical and tactical skills, create player pathways to show progression in their play, and talent ID players at higher skill levels to play competitively. Interestingly, we see both parents and players more engaged in their sport when they have goals to improve what they do on the sports field.

Our Management Team

Live Love Sport is a small, family run business that is owned and managed by Steve Cockell. Steve is a Level 4 qualified tennis professional who has been working in coaching for over 25 years. He has worked across a range of top clubs such as the AELTC and the Roehampton Club, as well as running his own businesses in sports coaching since 2002 covering sports management, corporate events and coaching service provision in tennis, rugby, football and netball.

Steve is assisted in running the company by his wife Angela who has a background in community sports management and the health and leisure industry. This work covered partnerships with Merton & Wandsworth to manage tennis and recreational facilities, and most currently as clinic manager at the Tulloch Clinic in Roehampton. Finally, Live Love Sport is supported by a team of highly experienced teaching professionals and coaches who work on site at our parks, schools and community links. The coaching team is always growing as we seek to find more opportunities to deliver our grass roots programs, with all of our team sharing our vision to create goals and help all of our participating players improve their enjoyment and level of play.
